…at the Public Speaking Contest – Toastmasters
For some inspiration, check out the Facebook event here!
23. February 2013 (Saturday)
in Bratislava, Slovakia
Venue: Auditorium of the University of Economics
This is the 4th year this incredible contest will be held – giving everybody, who wants to speak in front of the audience, to do so. No matter if you are a born speaker or a beginner. Here, you can try for yourself if you can deliver a speech that engages the audience. Not only can you choose which language (Slovak, English or German) you want to compete in, but you can also choose the category:
Are you at your best, when you are prepared well ahead?
Then give a prepared speech that last from 5 to 7 minutes. The choice of topic is entirely up to you! Just find what you’d like to talk about and start rehearsing.
Comfortable talking impromptu?
Great, sign up for table topics. You will get a random question directly at the contest and 30 seconds to prepare a speech that last from 1 to 2 minutes. A bit of a challenge, huh? Well, challenge yourself.
Sounds like evaluating is what you should be doing. You’ll compete with other evaluators on giving a constructive feedback. Can you pick up on mistakes and praise the strong points of a chosen speaker?
Feeling rather like watching other speakers?
Not a problem. You are more that welcome to take a seat and watch the whole contest. You will surely get inspired, meet lots of interesting people and be entertained by the given speeches.
